This is a ‘wild imagination’ / ‘gameshift’ virtual pop-up collaboration
Why this on-line workshop?
A new paradigm of leadership rooted in the insights of complexity theory is emerging. As a multi-layered and joined-up understanding of change this intuitively makes sense – and yet its application is not always obvious or straightforward.
Without a fundamental shift in mind-set a complexity paradigm can be eclipsed by old ways of defining and solving problems – becoming just another abstract analysis to better manipulate, predict and control events.
The unpredictable potential of complexity theory requires more than a rational understanding. What is also needed is an experiential method that can put a complexity paradigm into practice from directly within the process of change.
This workshop will briefly present and discuss:
- a broad understanding of imagination as a complex system – present in all perceptions, actions and relationships (not just as pictures ‘inside the mind’)
- a cultivation of a new mindset for embracing complex systems change as an ongoing ‘eyes-wide-open’ waking dream
- a skills base to better notice, validate and respond to the spontaneously irregular, unexpected and seemingly chaotic imaginings that most often point the way to change in complex systems
The result is an appreciation of complexity theory, not just as a means to rational insight but as an embodied imaginal sensibility at the heart of human potential and creativity.
