FICTION THERAPY: HOW WILD READING SETS IMAGINATION FREE

A new on-line course starting 12th Sept 2027!

Six 90min zoom sessions, fortnightly, on Sunday evenings

Full details to be announced soon – autumn 2026

By focussing directly upon the process of reading itself, as an act of ‘wild imagination’, this course introduces a new approach to ‘fiction therapy’ (or bibliotherapy) exploring why life is somehow enhanced when reading fiction, and how to consciously develop this therapeutic crossover into everyday living.

The result will be an appreciation of reading fiction, not as an isolated fantasy activity but as the cultivation of an imaginal perception that takes us to the heart of human creativity, healing and transformation.

Will be of interest to readers of fiction (including those who would like to develop their reading) and also therapists who want to incorporate a ‘fiction therapy’ approach into how they work.

To get further context on the approach check out this blog post and also the accompanying video, both of which share my early ideas on the topic, from a few years back now, to be developed and expanded in the forthcoming on-line course.

So SAVE THE DATE and look out for further details (or email allan@wildimagination.uk to register interest for a place on the course)
